Best-in-Slot Guide¶
This guide explains the priority order for gearing up on Legendary. The endgame gear hierarchy is:
Reforge +3 > Reforge +2 > Reforge +1 > Reforge base > Silver/Gold weapon. Augments are additive on top.
If you're new to the server, read through this once before spending marks. Mistakes are recoverable, but spending 1,000 Relic Marks before you know your job's track is a painful lesson.
Priority Order (All Jobs)¶
Follow this order regardless of job:
-
Get a Gold-tier weapon from the Gear Progression NPC at Reisenjima Henge. Gold weapons cost 50 Demons Medals each. Demons Medals are purchased with Hunt Marks (40 marks each) — so expect roughly 2,000 Hunt Marks total for a Gold weapon. This is your damage foundation and it takes about 5–6 hours of T1/T2 farming to achieve.
-
Buy your Sortie earring (NQ) from the Hunt Accessories NPC at Reisenjima Henge. 100 Hunt Marks gets you the NQ version. This earring is job-specific and gives meaningful stats immediately.
-
Start Reforge farming. Talk to the Spawner NPC at Gwora Corridor and pick an NM ladder that suits your job (see below). Each kill drops a random armor piece from that set's pool and grants set-specific upgrade currency.
-
Upgrade Reforge pieces to +1, then +2, then +3. The Reforge Vendor NPC at Gwora Corridor handles upgrades. Costs are in the set's own currency: 100 marks for +1, 300 for +2, 1,000 for +3. Each tier is a meaningful step up.
-
Augment your Reforge +3 pieces. Trade the appropriate catalyst to the Augment Moogle. See the Augment Priorities section below.
-
Upgrade your Sortie earring to +1 or +2 once you have marks to spare. The +1 adds Acc/MACC +8~12 for 200 marks; the +2 improves that to +10~15 for 350 marks.
Choosing Your Reforge Track¶
Three NM ladders. Three separate currencies. Three distinct armor sets. You can and should pursue all three eventually — they don't compete with each other — but pick one to focus first.
AF Track — Sky Gods (AF Marks)¶
Ladder: Genbu (Lv150) → Suzaku (Lv175) → Seiryu (Lv200) → Byakko (Lv225) → Kirin (Lv250)
Mark rewards per kill: 25 / 40 / 60 / 90 / 150 AF Marks
Sets include: Pummeler's (WAR), Anchorite's (MNK), Theophany (WHM), Spaekona's (BLM), Atrophy (RDM), Pillager's (THF), Reverence (PLD), Ignominy (DRK), Totemic (BST), Brioso (BRD), Orion (RNG), Wakido (SAM), Hachiya (NIN), Vishap (DRG), Convoker's (SMN), Assimilator's (BLU), Laksamana's (COR), Foire (PUP), Maxixi (DNC), Academic's (SCH), Geomancy (GEO), Runeist (RUN)
Best for: Jobs that benefit from the classic Sky endgame stat profile — strong melee DD sets and mage sets with balanced offense.
Upgrade costs: 100 / 300 / 1,000 AF Marks per tier
Relic Track — Unity NMs (Relic Marks)¶
Ladder: Bukhis (Lv150) → Khun (Lv175) → Padfoot (Lv200) → Glavoid (Lv225) → Tinnin (Lv250)
Mark rewards per kill: 25 / 40 / 60 / 90 / 150 Relic Marks
Sets include: Agoge (WAR), Hesychast's (MNK), Piety (WHM), Archmage's (BLM), Vitiation (RDM), Plunderer's (THF), Caballarius (PLD), Fallen's (DRK), Ankusa (BST), Bihu (BRD), Arcadian (RNG), Sakonji (SAM), Mochizuki (NIN), Pteroslaver (DRG), Glyphic (SMN), Luhlaza (BLU), Lanun (COR), Pitre (PUP), Horos (DNC), Pedagogy (SCH), Bagua (GEO), Futhark (RUN)
Best for: Jobs that favor the Relic gear profile — many of these sets have strong TP-building, accuracy, and debuff-landing bonuses.
Upgrade costs: 100 / 300 / 1,000 Relic Marks per tier
Empy Track — Abyssea NMs (Empy Marks)¶
Ladder: Aello (Lv150) → Iratham (Lv175) → Briareus (Lv200) → Itzpapalotl (Lv225) → Hadhayosh (Lv250)
Mark rewards per kill: 25 / 40 / 60 / 90 / 150 Empy Marks
Sets include: Boii (WAR), Bhikku (MNK), Ebers (WHM), Wicce (BLM), Lethargic (RDM), Skulker's (THF), Chevalier's (PLD), Heathen's (DRK), Nukumi (BST), Fili (BRD), Amini (RNG), Kasuga (SAM), Hattori (NIN), Peltast's (DRG), Beckoner's (SMN), Hashishin (BLU), Chasseur's (COR), Karagoz (PUP), Maculele (DNC), Arbatel (SCH), Azimuth (GEO), Erilaz (RUN)
Best for: Jobs that benefit from Empyrean set bonuses — many of these sets have strong WS damage modifiers and survivability stats.
Note on loot bias
The Reforge system has a 50% chance of dropping a piece for your current main job instead of a random piece from the 22-job pool. You don't have to game your job selection, but farming on the job you're gearing is measurably faster.
Augment Priorities¶
Augments from the Augment Moogle stack on top of your Reforge gear. The catalog enforces a strongest-version-only policy — every stat is available at its maximum value, so you never have to hunt a weaker version first.

Earring Tiers¶
The Hunt Accessories NPC at Reisenjima Henge sells Sortie earrings in three power tiers. All earrings are job-specific — you're buying the version for your job.
| Tier | Cost | Acc/MACC Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| NQ | 100 Hunt Marks | Base stats only (job-specific bonus) |
| +1 | 200 Hunt Marks | +8~12 Acc/MACC added |
| +2 | 350 Hunt Marks | +10~15 Acc/MACC added |
Every job has an earring. The base stat on the NQ version is job-specific (see examples below):
- WAR: Boii Earring — Double Attack +7%, Subtle Blow +5
- WHM: Ebers Earring — Healing Magic +10, Enmity -7
- BLM/SCH: Wicce/Arbatel Earring — Magic ATK +7, Magic Dmg +7
- SAM: Kasuga Earring — Store TP +7, SC Bonus +5
- PLD: Chevalier's Earring — DEF +20, Shield Skill +10, Cure +10%
- RDM: Lethargy Earring — Fast Cast +7%, Enhancing Magic Duration +7%
Buy the NQ version first, then upgrade when you have marks to spare. The +2 version is the clear endgame target but the NQ is a significant upgrade from nothing.
