Death Penalty

Dying inside Reisenjima Henge — the Hunting League zone — costs you 10 Hunt Marks. This is the only zone on the server with a mark deduction on death.

How It Works

Setting Value
Mark loss per death −10 Hunt Marks
Zone scope Reisenjima Henge only
New-player grace Players with fewer than 50 NM kills are exempt
Floor Balance never goes below zero

When the penalty applies, you see:

[Hunting League] Fallen in the hunt zone: −10 marks! (Balance: X)

New Player Grace Period

Players with fewer than 50 total NM kills are exempt from the death penalty. This grace window covers your first several hunts while you learn the ropes and build your gear.

Once you cross 50 kills, the penalty activates and stays active.

Death's Pardon

The Mystery Mog occasionally awards a prize called Death's Pardon. While you're holding one, the next death penalty you would take in Reisenjima Henge is absorbed — you lose no marks, and the pardon is spent in your place. When it triggers, you'll see:

[Hunting League] The Mog's pardon absorbed the death penalty! (Your Hunt Marks are safe.)

A pardon only ever soaks one death. Win another from the Mystery Mog to bank a fresh one.

Why This Exists

The Hunting League is built around high-level NM combat. A small mark cost on death adds meaningful stakes to hunts without being punishing enough to discourage participation. Losing 10 marks is roughly equivalent to skipping a daily login — noticeable, but not catastrophic.
