Treasure Hunts

Out in the field, a Hunting League kill might turn up a tattered map with an X on it. Carry it to the right corner of the world, dig where it's warm, and pry open a buried strongbox full of marks, gil, and augment catalysts.

Summary

Hunting League kills can drop treasure maps; take a map to its overworld zone and dig — hot/cold feedback guides you to a buried strongbox of marks, gil, and augment catalysts.

Finding maps

Every Hunting League kill has a chance to shake loose a treasure map — 8% at the lowest hunt tier, rising 2% per tier (so a top-tier kill is around 16%). You can only carry one map at a time, so dig up the one you have before going for another.

Tougher hunts drop better maps:

Map Drops from
Tattered Treasure Map the first–second hunt tiers
Weathered Treasure Map the third–fourth hunt tiers
Pristine Treasure Map the fifth hunt tier

Where to dig

A map points at one of the classic overworld zones. Travel to the marked zone, then start digging:

  • Valkurm Dunes
  • Buburimu Peninsula
  • Qufim Island
  • Beaucedine Glacier
  • Batallia Downs
  • Rolanberry Fields
  • Sauromugue Champaign
  • Tahrongi Canyon
  • Konschtat Highlands
  • La Theine Plateau
  • Pashhow Marshlands
  • Meriphataud Mountains
  • Jugner Forest
  • Eastern Altepa Desert

The dig

Your first dig buries the strongbox somewhere nearby on solid ground. Every dig after that gives you a temperature reading and a compass nudge — follow the heat until you are standing on top of it:

  • SCORCHING! It must be right here!
  • Hot! Very close now.
  • Warm. Getting closer.
  • Cool... a fair walk yet.
  • Freezing cold. The mark is far away.

Dig within about 12 fulms of the box and it's yours.

What's in the box

What's inside scales with the map's tier:

Map Marks Gil Augment catalysts
Tattered Treasure Map 250 25,000 1
Weathered Treasure Map 600 75,000 2
Pristine Treasure Map 1,500 200,000 4

Cracking open a Pristine Treasure Map is announced server-wide — the whole world hears about your haul.

Catalysts are the same ones used to power up augmented gear, so the world tour keeps the augment economy fed.

Keep an empty inventory slot or two before you dig — a strongbox that can't fit all its catalysts pays you marks for the overflow instead.
