Server-specific terms, explained in plain language.
AF Marks : Reforge currency earned by killing the Sky God NMs: Genbu, Seiryu, Byakko, Suzaku, and Kirin. Used to upgrade AF armor sets from base through +3.
Affix : A dungeon modifier that changes enemy behavior, adds player debuffs, or alters run conditions. Affixes are granted randomly when a dungeon is entered — no two runs are guaranteed to play the same way.
Augment : A permanent stat bonus applied to a piece of gear by trading a catalyst to the Augment Moogle. Augments stack with the gear's base stats and can be stacked or replaced.
Augment Sage : A special NPC whose affinity bonuses improve augment strength based on your NM kill history. The more NMs you've killed, the stronger the bonuses the Sage can apply.
Catalyst : An item that drops from monsters throughout the game world. Traded to the Augment Moogle to unlock a specific augment option on your gear.
Daily Board : A three-objective board located in GM Home that resets at midnight UTC every day. Completing all three objectives earns bonus Hunt Marks.
Empy Marks : Reforge currency earned by killing Abyssea NMs, from Aello through Hadhayosh. Used to upgrade Empyrean armor sets from base through +3.
Featured Dungeon : One of the four dungeons that grants +50% Infamy for all runs that day. Rotates daily — check the board in GM Home to see which dungeon is featured.
Hunt Marks / HL Points : The primary currency earned by killing Hunting League NMs. Spent at the Seals NPC to purchase gear upgrades, consumables, and other rewards.
Hunter's Guild : A parallel NM organization that tracks your kills across four guilds. Higher guild standing amplifies the HL Points you earn per kill — working toward Trinity status in all four guilds is a long-term goal.
Hunting League : The custom 5-tier NM hunting system that drives all long-term progression on Legendary. Advance through the ranks Scout → Tracker → Hunter → Veteran → Legend by accumulating kills and HL Points.
Infamy : Currency earned inside the Dungeon system. Spent at the Infamy Vendor for dungeon-exclusive gear upgrades and consumables.
Mythic : The hardest dungeon difficulty tier. Enemies have 2.5× HP compared to Normal. Access is gated behind five Hard-difficulty clears and a weekly Mythic Key. The best gear in the game drops only here.
NM : Notorious Monster — a named enemy that drops specific loot and earns Hunt Marks when killed. NMs are the primary activity of the Hunting League and Reforge systems.
Relic Marks : Reforge currency earned by killing Unity NMs, from Bukhis through Tinnin. Used to upgrade Relic armor sets from base through +3.
Reforge : The system of killing NM currency ladders to upgrade AF, Relic, or Empy armor from the base version through +1, +2, and +3. Each upgrade tier requires more marks and is visually and statistically distinct.
Streak Multiplier : A bonus earned inside dungeons for consecutive clears without leaving. Starts at 1.0× and caps at 1.5× after five consecutive clears, increasing Infamy earned per run.
Wave Master : An NPC located in Balga's Dais who spawns themed NM waves for solo or group play. Scales with party size. Rewards Hunt Marks on completion and is useful for both marks farming and combat practice.
Weekly Hunt Board : Five rotating objectives that reset each week. Objectives range from kill counts to dungeon clears. Completing all five earns a large bonus mark payout.
