Server Rules¶
Legendary is a small, friendly community. We have a short list of rules designed to keep it that way. None of this is complicated — just be a reasonable person and you'll be fine.
The Short Version¶
- Cheating is frowned upon. Bots, automation, and packet editing are discouraged — play fair.
- Be decent to people. Harassment isn't tolerated.
- No real-money trading. Gil and items stay in-game. Period.
- Don't exploit bugs. Found one? Report it. Don't farm it.
- No account limits. Multi-box as much as you like.
- GMs are not vending machines. They don't spawn items or content on request.
Detailed Rules¶
Fair Play¶
Cheating is frowned upon. Third-party tools that automate gameplay — combat bots, AHK macros that play the game for you, and anything that removes the need for a human at the keyboard — go against the spirit of the server, and the community tends to look down on them.
Quality-of-life plugins through Windower or Ashita are fine — maps, chat filters, bag sorting, item tooltips. We're not interested in policing the things that make the game more playable.
Speedhacks, wallhacks, and packet editing fall into the same "frowned upon" bucket: they hand you an edge over people playing with just the game client, and that's not the kind of play we want to encourage. If you're unsure whether a tool crosses the line, ask in Discord.
Economy¶
No real-money trading. Gil and items exist in the game economy, not for sale outside of it. Selling or buying Gil for real money — or brokering item purchases with real currency — is a permanent ban, no appeal. This isn't about the letter of the rule; it's about keeping the game fair for people who actually play it.
Multi-Boxing¶
There are no account limits and no cap on how many characters you run at once. Multi-box freely — a single support character to buff your main, or a full party of your own, it's all fine. Playing multiple characters is a normal part of how a lot of people enjoy FFXI.
Bug Reporting¶
Found a bug or an exploitable mechanic? Report it in the #bug-reports channel in Discord.
Using an exploit for personal gain before reporting it — especially one that affects the economy, spawn rates, or item acquisition — will result in strikes against your account. How many depends on severity.
Good-faith bug reports are welcomed and rewarded. We'd rather fix something than police it.
Community Standards¶
No harassment, hate speech, slurs, or targeted toxicity. This is a small server — you'll be playing with the same people for months. Act accordingly.
Trash talk in competition is fine. Targeting someone to make them miserable is not. Staff use judgment; there's no exhaustive list of prohibited words.
GMs and Staff¶
GMs are here for server maintenance, not customer service. They do not:
- Give out items, Gil, or gear
- Spawn content on demand
- Intervene in normal competitive gameplay
- Teleport you because you got stuck (use
/healor rezone)
If you see a GM online, they're doing maintenance. Staff will never ask for your account password or credentials. If someone claiming to be a GM asks for your password, that's an impersonator — report it immediately.
Consequences¶
Most rule violations follow a three-strike process:
- Warning — you're told what you did and why it's a problem
- 24-hour ban — temporary removal from the server
- Permanent ban — account terminated
Severe violations — real-money trading, sustained harassment campaigns, large-scale exploiting — skip directly to permanent ban without warning. Staff judgment is final, but bans can be appealed in Discord.
Contact¶
All reports, appeals, and questions go through Discord. Use the appropriate channel:
- #bug-reports — bugs and exploits
- #appeals — ban appeals and account issues
- #help — general questions
- #hall-of-fame — milestone submissions
The goal is a fun server, not a perfectly policed one. Use good judgment, treat people well, and you'll never have to think about this page again.
